Scalloped Potatoes

Making scalloped potatoes is so simple.

Ingredients:

1 cup of milk
 
2 Tbsp flour mixed with 1 tsp each salt and pepper
 
8 medium potatoes, washed and sliced thin
 
Butter
 
1 chopped yellow onion
 
a sprinkle of paprika
 

Begin by chopping your onion and slicing your potatoes.  Combine your arrowroot or flour with your salt and pepper in a small dish and set aside.  

Greece an oven proof dish with a lid.  Begin layering potatoes, onions, then a light sprinkle of the arrowroot mixture. Repeat until dish is full.  

Dot with 3 tablespoons of butter and the sprinkle the last of the flour mixture over top.

 

Pour 1 cup of heated (not boiled) whole milk over the top and sprinkle with paprika.  

Bake at 350 for about one hour, or until a knife slides through the potatoes without resistance.  Remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes to brown the top.
