Healthy Ice Cream

What would your kids, and probably husband, think of an ice cream treat that is delicious, and has less sugar than the typical frozen treats from the supermarket? If you are serious about a nutrient dense diet for your family, a good quality ice cream maker will serve up healthy ice cream in about 1/2 an hour.

Ingredients:

1 Litre whipping cream (35% MF)

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/2 tsp real vanilla extract

1 tsp arrowroot powder (optional)

Directions:

Mix them all up, dump them in and turn it on.

Eat immediately as soft ice cream or freeze extras in small shallow containers with lids.

When ready to eat after storing them in the freezer, let them sit on the counter for about 3 minutes first to soften.

Alternatively you can pour soft ice cream from the machine into popsicle molds and freeze.

Mix in your favorite flavours toward the end of the cycle.

Try:

Matcha tea.

Espresso powder.

Cocoa powerder.

Pureed fruit.

Crumbled LaraBar.

Peanuts.
